Theological Works by Dr. Kenneth H. Good

Chosen In Him

Chosen In Him is one of the finest practical theology works of our time. While not overly technical it addresses some of the most important biblical themes affecting both pastoral ministry and missions.  Dr. Good demonstrates how a proper understanding of theology affects both methodology and ecclesiology.

"Every student of the Bible who has a desire to under-gird his life and ministry with a sound biblical foundation of truth will find this volume a must read.”     Pastor George H. Heiland

Are Baptists Calvinists?

Dr. Good stated his purpose for this excellent work.  He was devoted to stemming the tide which was drawing the General Association of Regular Baptists away from its Calvinistic origins.

He states, " In the interest of preserving a regular Baptist heritage in this generation and with the most sincere desire that the ultimate unity of the presently apparent heir of that trust (G. A. R. B. C.) be saved from irreparable division in the present decade, this book is set forth.  It seeks for the Association only its ultimate welfare , as established in truth.

Orthodox Baptist everywhere, however, are in view -- irrespective of affiliation, identification, or lack of it.  There are regular Baptist who are not publicly identified with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. There are regular Baptist churches that are not part of any Regular Baptist Association.  There are many churches that have withdrawn from all connections with apostasy and that hold to the old faith as found in such statements as the Philadelphia Confession of Faith.  All these, as well as the favored General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, were in perspective as these lines were written. There is great need in our times for a united voice from Baptists to the historic faith as expressed in the soteriological standards adopted by the Philadelphia Association in the early years of our nation's history."

History has shown that the GARBC sidestepped the issue and has been weakened in the process.  Regular Baptists who have held to the historic position find themselves in the minority but should take courage in the resurgence of interest in the Doctrines of Grace.  This book is a valuable read and in spite of its narrow purpose adds timeless insight to the contemporary scene.  258 pages.
